RE: Perihal Rumah.

After being away for a couple of months, I had the opportunity to get back home in Kg Dusun Durian, although it was just for three short days. There are not many changes occurred except for a few trees that has been chopped down, mainly because of the construction of a new fence for the garden around the house that will take place soon.

There has been quite a hard time for the family especially for Abah watching the goats entering the garden and harm the innocent trees especially for the banana plants. The are not even a chance for the trees to grow up as the leaves were eaten and abused by these goats. Therefore, the couple has decided to end the war by putting a solid defense around the garden to prevent those greedy creature to enter the wealthy land.

Using the right shot technique can make these dokongs look marrier.

Going to the back of the house, you will see the Dokong’s trees are producing a considerable amount of fruits. Although it is not that much, it was more than enough for me to get occupied under these trees for you-know-what business.

Besides that, one and only durian tree at the back also generates some fruits. I was not able to taste them as none felt down when I was home. These durians seemed to be OK because there was no squirrel eating them  like what happened at Cheak’s house. The squirrals can eat the dokongs instead of the hard durians.. At Cheak’s , the durians were all eaten by hungry squirrels because there is no other fruit available for them.

Maybe this can be a nice topic for ice breaking if you were to meet a new friend. huhuhu.. The conversation might be like this..

Abe Mat: Demo tahu blake rumoh kawe ado kebun?
Jejaka/ Gadis: Kebun gapo?
Abe Mat: Ado blako. Dokong ado, Durian ado, Nyuir ado, Pise ado,  pendek kato ado blako (exaggeration)..
Jejaka/ Gadis: Wahhh.. Buleh mintak no phone? Bulih g jalle smula2..
Abe Mat: Boleh2.. (dalam hati: xsempat nak mintak, dia mintak dlu.. huhuhu)

Khatam al-Quran di Gunung Kinabalu.

KAMPUNG DOMIS – Bagi meraikan para pelajar Maahad Tahfiz Sains yang akan mengikuti ekspedisi menawan puncak Gunung Kinabalu dan khatam al-Quran di kawasan berkenaan, satu majlis pelancaran program itu diadakan di Dewan Hassan Al-Banna, Maahad Tahfiz dekat sini semalam. Program terbabit melibatkan seramai 30 pelajar dan lima guru pengiring akan bertolak pada 26 Mac (Rabu) dan dijangka pulang pada 1 April ini.

Majlis pelancaran program terbabit dirasmikan oleh Exco Pembangunan Insan, Belia, Sukan & NGO, Abdul Fattah Mahmood, yang juga Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) Bukit Panau. Turut hadir pada majlis pelancaran berkenaan, Pengetua Maahad Tahfiz Sains, Tarmizi Said. Tarmizi dalam ucapannya berharap agar para peserta bersedia dari segi fizikal dan mental serta mempunyai keazaman yang kuat dalam diri untuk menawan puncak Gunung Kinabalu. Beliau turut menegaskan agar para pelajar akan sentiasa kental dan mempunyai ketahanan fizikal dalam menjalankan aktiviti terbabit. “Kehidupan setiap manusia perlulah dilengkapi dengan kekentalan mental dan fizikal, lebih-lebih lagi kepada manusia yang bergelar hamlatul Quran. “Ketahanan fizikal yang utuh akan dapat memantapkan lagi peribadi individu dalam mengharungi perjuangan,” ka-tanya.

Sementara itu, menurut Abdu Fattah, beliau turut merakamkan perasaan bangga dengan Ekspedisi Khatam Al-Quran di puncak Gunung Kinabalu. “Ekspedisi menawan puncak tertinggi di Asia Tenggara ini dan khatam 30 juzuk al-Quran merupakan yang pertama seumpamanya di Malaysia . “Saya mengharapkan agar lebih banyak lagi program-program atau ekspedisi yang disertakan dengan aktiviti khatam al-Quran,” katanya. Beliau turut menyarankan agar para peserta menitikberatkan disiplin pemakanan semasa pendakian. “Saya mendoakan semoga peserta ekspedisi menawan puncak Gunung Kinabalu ini akan selamat semuanya dan dilindungi oleh ALLAH SWT,” katanya ketika berucap pada majlis berkenaan.

Aktiv budak-budak lonni, nak SPM sempat lagi naik gunung. Pas ko Sabah pulok tu baa. Takpo lah Mat Ajik tak pernah gi Sabah lagi supo hok lain baaa. 3 orang sudah dari keluarga Haji Lazim sudah naik gunung Kinabalu baa. Hj Lazim, Mat Apih ngan Mat Ajik. Mat paih ngan Che No bila lagi? Saya? Buleh gi Gunung, Bachok nuh ok dah baa.

My toys II

My new Kerambit.. Kerambit Sungai Siput..

I’ve got another toy last week, given by Bro Syahir. This makes my Kerambit aka Lawi ayam stock become merrier (two). Both of them are quite similar as they come from the same state, Perak. The first one is among my first weapon collection that I got ways back when I was in form three, given by my uncle aka my grandmaster.

What is the difference between Lawi ayam, kerambit and kuku rimau? Kelantanese called kerambit as lawi ayam. As far as I concern, both of them are just the same. Kuku rimau is the smaller version of the kerambit. I was told that these weapons can be made hidden in women’s hair acting as the knot. It can be used at any critical moment as a deadly weapon.

Today, it is categorized as a mandatory weapon. You can’t just carry this weapon here and there because if you were caught by a police officer, you might be in deep trouble. So what is the point of having it if you can even bring it along with you? When you learn to use it, you might need to use the real kerambit. However, in the real case scenario, you can use anything around you which can act as a kerambit. The easiest tool is by using key. This seem-to-be-naive thing can be an extremely dangerous if it is used properly.

Perihal Rumah.

Sudah genap tiga minggu saya tinggal di kawasan perumahan Lindenredder. Sewa bulan kedua harus dibayar lagi dalam masa yang terdekat. Duit mengalir seperti air tapi apa nak buat. Ikhlas dikatakan saya amat suka suasana dan keadaan di perumahan ini. Penempatan yang tersusun, rumah-rumah yang cantik, halaman-halaman yang terjaga rapi dan suasana yang tenang menyebabkan saya merasakan amat bertuah kerana berpeluang menyewa rumah di kawasan ini. Tenang dan indah, mungkin saya sudah tua kerana sentiasa bercakap berkenaan topik subjektif tersebut. Tetapi yang lebih penting, saya mempunyai bumbung untuk berlindung dari panas dan kesejukkan, Alhamdulillah.

Kebanyakan orang yang tinggal di sini adalah mereka yang berkeluarga. Rumah yang saya sewa mungkin hanya satu-satunya rumah di kawasan ini yang disewa oleh pelajar. Kadang-kadang saya ada juga mengimpikan wujudnya watak Walt Kowalski seperti dalam filem Gran Torino. Manalah tahu saya akan diwarisi kereta ataupun rumah. Amin. Mengimpikan bulan jatuh ke riba? Tidak salah untuk bermimpi sekali-sekala.

Yang lebih menarik lagi berdekatan dengan rumah saya terdapat kawasan hutan simpan. Bukanlah saya berminat sangat dengan hutan, tetapi hutan boleh menjadi modal atau topik perbualan apabila saya berjumpa kawan-kawan. Topik hutan sudah cukup untuk memecahkan kebuntuan atau ingin mengorat seseorang.Dialog sebegini mungkin akan terjadi:

Abe Mat: Demo tahu ko belakang rumah kawe ado hutan.
Jejaka/gadis x: Jolo Ko? Ada gapo dale hutan tu?
Abe Mat : Ado rusa bakali. Kawe kalu kelik Malaysia, nak suruh boh kawe pero ruso, buleh panggang hujung-hujung minggu. Beres lah pasal rusa, buleh saya mintak no telefon kamu?
Perkara ini bakal terjadi.

C. Dapat kawan baru.

He did it again. It fit well with his complex and moody character. What a waste. I hope he will consider decision.  Not only he is playing with Boca Juniors right now. It is difficult for me to watch him play regularly in Television. I am hoping to be able to watch him during International friendly or 2010 World Cup. After he left Villareal, European League has no more player who play like him. For me the only player that able to come close to his class is Xavi Hernandez.

In my  opinion he will be the greatest playmaker during my time at least. His ability to split open defences with slide-rule passes is what I like the most about him. Football will be always seem easy sport to play by watching him playing. His elegant style make you feel  Gerrard or Lampard has wooden legs. His unhurried style makes you think  how cool he is. Everything must start from him. He is the architect of the team.

After Maradona accepts the job, I immediately imagine how great it will be. Combination between Maradona brain and Riquelme foots, Argentina 2010 team again will play the way like football should be played. It is all not about winning. Beauty part is also important. If not, just go and watch American football.

Still remember this goal? This has got to be the best goal so far in World Cup 2006 or any world cup or at least the best team goal. Martin Tyler later commented that it was the best team goal he has ever commented on! Contains all 24 passes leading up to the goal. Simply outstanding teamwork by Argentina. Possession football is wonderful to watch but only some team able to do it. Riquelme can always able to lead the to team play like this.

But to watch him is to see the art of midfield play at its supreme and subtle best. Unlike Ronaldinho, there are no fireworks with Riquelme. In fact you don’t really notice him half the time. Defenders don’t either. He floats around the area between the holding player and the forwards, and represents an absolute nightmare to the opposing defence. Slow and ponderous looking at times, if you try to tackle him he just ghosts past. If you try to mark him he simply drops off so deep that the man-marker gets bored. And he never loses the ball. It seems to be uncannily stuck to his boot. Then when a forward makes a run into space he always finds them. His passing is deadly accurate, and often visionary. Everything goes through him. He almost always causes something to happen.

The Garden of Viruses

Based on my prior knowledge, I knew that my college’s network has the tendency in making sure that our computers and thumdrives are infected with viruses. However, that was just a minor case. What I had seen a few days back was more revealing.

When I was using one of the computers in the college, the AVG scanning schedule suddenly popped out. As I was not in rush, I just let the AVG did her job. Then, the antivirus software detected viruses from the computer. After waiting for a while, the amount of the threats reached 200. I couldn’t finish the scanning process as I need to share the computers with others. My friend told me that we don’t want to scare everyone by showing this great numbers offviruses in the PC.. Just imagine if each of them were at the size of a tiger.. We were all now dead being eaten by them.. huhuhu

The situation were totally different when I was studying in Plymouth. A computer/laptop needs to pass a quarantine test that is done by the college network before the computer can be used to surf the net. The computer needs to have an antivirus and an antispyware that have the latest update installed to them. Therefore, we can say that the ICT team in Marjon has taken an effective prevention action to solve the problem.

This doesn’t mean that we can’t do anything in IPBA to minimise the casualties in facing this challenge. We can actually do something at the makro level. Aiming to create a caring society, what we can do to create safe and conducive community are to:

  1. Update your antivirus in a regular basis, preferably every day.
  2. Scan your computer at least once in a week.
  3. Scan any thumdrive or external hard drive that you take from others before you open/explore it.
  4. You need to have a antispyware software as well, i.e. spybot search and destroy.
  5. Be careful when your pendrive makes any contact with the college’s PC. Make sure that you scan your thumdrive when you want to use them in your PC.
  6. If you are using mozilla firefox, you might want to consider using adblock plus add ons to prevent the adsense disturb you when surfing the net.

Hopefully, by being such a caring culture, the productivity of our computer can be maximised thus making our life more convenience.

“Owk baa..” the first Hail gave me my phone telling me that he wanted to see some pics from the phone.. He uttered some gibberish when I showed him the pictures. “Lets take some pictures instead” I suggested. So, the picture session went like this before Abe Hapih and I managed to get a nearly perfect picture of the two hails.. huhuhu

Yeay I slept 13 hours last night. Puas hati!

Islamic Spring Retreat Vandy went great. A good kick start for Vandy and they’re proposing that we do such program every year. Alhamdulillah!

Still thinking whether I should go back to Malaysia this summer or not. Considering that this will be my last summer in States, yeah, rs cam nak tercabut kepala pikir. haha. I need to choose either Europe or Malaysia. Spainn bebeh. ISNA and STC or the Reunion thing in Malaysia and intern. dan jugak boleh jumpa ariff and afiq. OK kepala dah tercabut. hahahaha.

So I will spent my spring break working. and catching up with my study. like never before. Haha. Kawan baik saya ialah meja reeve. and laptop. dan maybe my BELOVED physio book.

I have a BIG plan tomorrow. Been dreaming about it since last week. I’ll upload some pictures or maybe vids if my plan goes well tomorrow. 😀

Selangor vs Kelantan

Before the game started, many guessed the winner would be Kelantan with at least 3-1 win. It was not just a wild assumption; the hypothesis was made based on careful observation in the previous games that both teams have gone through.

Kelantan’s village at one side of the Shah Alam Stadium. Everyone talked about the Red Warrior.

However, the Selangor team has punched Kelantan’s team really hard. Turning the table around, they had made all of the Kelantan’s fans fall into silent. Nobody could still jump around and cheering the ‘Gomo Klate Gomo’ slogan when they post was blasted three times. It was enough to make everyone in the team wakes up from the sweet dreams that they had before.  This is the Reds Warrior’s first league defeat in their 8 games, excluding the first game that the FAM has ruined.

Although I am not a football player, a critique, or a great fan of any local or international football team, I would still like to give one cent of my opinion from what I’ve observed last night:

Singing the anthem..

1) Some of the supporters don’t even know the Malaysian Anthem. They have started clapping hands when there were still a stanza that needed to be sung. I suggest that they must go to the BTN or PLKN courses if they want to be the citizen of the country.

2) A large number of supporters didn’t pray the Maghrib prayer, worst than not knowing the Malaysian Anthem’s lyric. haih.. Some were pushing each other to enter the prying room. According to a bro that I interviewed talked to, it is rare to see the scene where everyone were pushing each other to pray at the earliest time possible. It would be best if it happens all the times in any Masjid or Madrasah..

3) Kelantan team needs a supertonic that can make them perform in big games, same like they did in other games. If not, they will not go far, ever and their dark history might repeat again and again.

4) Every great thing comes with risks. Kelantan’s offside trap happened to be working fine almost all the time, but a few escapees from the opponent had led to the destruction.

5) Basic skills are still needed. For an instance,  the passing skills. Easy to say/watch than done.

6) You can beat the ball, but not other players. The pitch is not a wrestling ring where you can slap and kick others whenever you like. Be professional players. And don’t blame the referee if you got the card.

7) Same as what had happened to the fans of both teams. Throwing bottles, fire crackers and even the fixed chairs to the field and one another are not the good way to support your team. We are still in the third class mind set. We really need to change and be matured. Show good example to the children who come to watch football and at the same time watch our bad mouth, cursing at others and showing the inappropriate sign language. Eventually, they will follow what we did, and don’t blame them for that.

All in all, I would like to congratulate both teams. They have indeed entertained the viewers. Ninety minutes run really fast. Congratulation to the supporters as well, I believe that all went home losing their voice because of cheering their beloved team. huhuhu

*Do I bring the bad result to the team that I support? The Malaysian team that I supported in the game with UAE ended up with the 0-5 result. The similar thing happened last night. I need to watch at least a few more games before I can conclude my observation.
