Weird taste

On the last weekend, I’ve asked Abe Je suggestion on a few films that worth watching. He had suggested two movies which are ‘No Country for Old Men’ (8.5 for IMDB rating) and ‘There Will Be Blood’ (8.6 for IMDB rating).

Both movies were great except for the endings. I dont’ know whether I am out of date or the people who voted for the movies have the weird taste (which may include my brother?). The plots and the contents for both stories were tremendous but the end of the stories were a bit unsatisfying. We as the viewers were left without been given any single clue about what will exactly happen next. Do the protagonist win? Or maybe he lost? What is happening to the others? What is the conclusion for the film?

Ironically, people spent money and time to get the tension, thrilled or whatever they call it is. It has moved from the fundamental aim which is to relax oneself from the real life.

We were left to make our own ethical judgement on the issues. What the heck!! A good movie should not only have the good themes and the good quality of actors, but also the good intro as well as ending. A good film is like a pregnancy process. The process should be smooth or else it will harm the baby which is the film. The pregnant woman need to be careful throughout the period especially during the giving birth process which is the ending of the film or else they will spoil the baby.

**Shooting others with the captive bolt pistol is really cool. Maybe the martial art artists should include the disarm of this weapon in the syllabus as well . Is it same like disarming the baseball bat or broken bottle? hmm..

Snow@Plymouth

Alhamdulillah.. Lastly, after waiting for more than one year (after about 1.083 years) we have got the chance to see, feel and touch (but not taste) the snow at Marjon. Although it was not as thick as what other places had, it was enough for us to get the feeling of joy playing with the snow.

Our meeting was postponed because of the snow. everyone jumped out of the house to take some pictures. huhuhu

Actually, the snow fell three times in these two weeks. Each of it was just in a short period of time. Less than an hour. However, that was enough to make all of us become the ‘orang darat’ and jump around as though the snow was the gold. huhuhu

snow fight between the two rivals teams.

According to my lecturer, the snow was able to make the whole Plymouth paralysed if it fell just a little bit more than it was. It is because this area is not used to have this kind of situation and they are not prepared for it. And the interesting bit was it would be considered a holiday if the lecturers didn’t come to the college because of this bad weather.

Anyway, the word ‘if’ is not a good word and should not be used in your daily life. It is alright to use it to clarify the possibility that will happen in the future but not to regret about the past. The previous paragraph is one of the bad examples of the ‘if’ usage. Please take note about that. huhuhu

In the other parts of the UK, the worst case scenario had happen. As we are now in Easter, the snow fall is quite unexpected. The local people are looking towards the shiny days throughout the week but it turns to be the other way around.

This is one of my photo editing works using the Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8, which is a licenced software. It has nothing to do with the Snow@Plymouth. I’ve put my face, the flag and the words. It is simple but not that easy, especially for the beginner like me. Quite messy though. Interested to have the same picture? Just give me a shout.. huhuhu..

Change my dead heart

Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad

“Change my dead heart”

Wash all the filth away and change my dead heart
Wash all the filth away and change my dead heart
Make me alive again, give me a fresh start

So change my heart please and wash the filth away
Don’t leave me drowning here alone and astray

I spent my life running away from you
I spent my life running away from you
And now I have no where to turn except to you

I turn to you and begging you to be saved
And change me into an obedient slave

Wash all the filth away and change my dead heart
Make me alive again, give me a fresh start

I have been doing all my life what I craved
Shaytan and nafs have always held me enslaved

I am ashamed that I have broken your rules
Worshiped my nafs and feel an ignorant fool

But now I know the path leading me to deen
I bow to you and asking you to help me

Wash all the filth away and change my dead heart
Make me alive again, give me a fresh start

I wish your name to be engraved in my heart
I will be grateful to you – change this dead heart

My heart is dark and so my eyes remain dry
Hypocrisy and hubris won’t let me cry

I’m at your door and begging you let me in
I’m at your door and begging you let me in
Don’t push me back to my hopeless life of sin

So change my heart and forgive my sins this day
Don’t leave me drowning here alone and astray

Wash all the filth away and change my dead heart
Make me alive again, give me a fresh start

Al Fatihah to Tuan Guru Haji Abdullah Lubuk Tapah

When I was in the secondary school, I had an opportunity to stay and experience the ‘pondok life’ for few weeks. It was in Tuan Guru Haji Abdullah Lubuk Tapak’s hut.

This morning, I’ve heard the news that Tuan Guru Haji Abdullah has pass away, meeting his Creator. We have lost another star that enlighten the us with his knowledge and barakah.

Narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin Al’ As:

I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, “Allah does not take away the knowledge, by taking it away from (the hearts of) the people, but takes it away by the death of the religious learned men till when none of the (religious learned men) remains, people will take as their leaders ignorant persons who when consulted will give their verdict without knowledge. So they will go astray and will lead the people astray.” (Volume 1, Book 3, Number 100)

Ya Allah, Show us the straight path, (6) The path of those whom Thou hast favoured. Not (the path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray. (7). Amin..

Psychopath test

This is an e-mail that I’ve got from my Internet group..

Psychopath test

Read this question, come up with an answer and then scroll down to the
bottom for the result. This is not a trick question. It is as it reads. No one I know has got it right.

A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met a guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing. She believed him to be her dream guy so much, that she fell in love with him right there, but never asked for his number and could not find him. A few days later she killed her sister.

Question: What is her motive for killing her sister?

[Give this some thought before you answer]

.

.

Answer:

She was hoping the guy would appear at the funeral again. If you
answered this correctly, you think like a psychopath. This was a test by a famous American Psychologist used to test if one has the same mentality as a killer.

Many arrested serial killers took part in the test and answered the
question correctly.

If you didn’t answer the question correctly, good for you.

If you answered correctly, please take me off your mailing list,
pretty please.

Luckily, I didn’t try to get the right answer or else.. huhuhu

Randori Nationals 2008

As expected from the beginning, I didn’t win any medal in the competition. However, I have learned a lot from this event. The Randori Nationals in Birmingham was indeed a worth trip.

Knowledge, understanding, skills and experience

Life is like a circle, sometimes you are on top and sometimes you are at the bottom. At the moment the picture was taken, I was on top, doing the ultimate Keza Gatame technique. Unfortunately, It didn’t last long. I was able to do the technique for a few times before I was pinned by the Yoko Shiho Gatame technique. And.. that’s the end of the game. T-T

Management and Organization

Conducive environment for training

All of the registrations and accommodation booking were done on-line, before the competition kicks off

Clean and ample space for lunch/dinner

First aid and safety precaution given by the professionals

Fair and square games

Exhibition

Free massage. Anyone?

Comfortable sits for the spectators

At the end of the event, the additional thing that I got was the bruises and pain all over my body.. huhuhu
