Social Visit

Having just an intention without any action won’t move a thing. I have been thinking on going to Batu Kurau since I went back to Malaysia but didn’t have the chance yet. Therefore we had make a few calls and really determine to go to Batu Kurau this time. Alhamdulillah, our last minute plan was a success as almost all of the objectives of the visit were achieved.

Most of the times were filled with eating.. huhuhu.. Row on the left: Ustaz Khalid, Nazmie, Pak Ngah. Row on the right: Warid, Cg Mat, Adi Shahid.

The social visit has made me realise that what I have learned before was just a tip of a tip of iceberg. The conclusion that I could make was that we need more social visits and practices to enhance our understanding, skills and experiences. huhuhu.

Catching the moment

Yesterday, we had our family day for our batch which is officially known as ‘Hari Pengurusan Gerko’.  This is when a few of my friends showed their talent catching the moment- taking pictures. This very moment will be kept forever and not easily being forgotten. Their skills was superb far beyond mine.. huhuhu

Galah Panjang in progress

As I am not an expert in taking pictures, I would rather ask the professionals to take pictures using my own camera. Although the camera is nothing compared to the SLR cameras, I believe that the art of taking picture is not solely depending on just the type of camera that is used. It is the combination between the camera used, the setting in using the camera, the art of taking picture itself and the editing part, which none of them I have. huhuhu

Futsal- coincidentally, WA stands for wing attack.. huhu

In taking action pictures, one need to be extra alert as an action would not happen twice. This is the time when you need to decide fast because you would not find the same moment ever again. It is quite different from the picture in which the photographer count before he or she takes the picture. I am ok in taking count-before-take and say-cheeeese pictures. huu..

p/s: There are angles on our shoulders taking care of capturing every moment of our lives. Are we at least aware of it? huhuhu

Cuti Depavali

My Toys IV

I have just got an exclusive chef knife given by my brother though bro Kerol. As we met at a fast food restaurant packed with people, I had to postpone my eagerness to watch the Englishmen technology which is portrayed through the piece of metal. I afraid that we might create havoc if I took out the blade. Not because people think that we want to rob the restaurant or something , but they might want to have the blade as well.. huhuhu

Excell, Richardson Sheffield product. Made of hard titanium edge, the cook knife stays sharp five times longer than a conventional blade.

The knife comes just on time as the Eid is just around the corner. I can experiment on the effectiveness of the blade. If it passes the standard that I have made which is sharp enough to cut an amount of meat in a lenght of time, I may consider putting some assessory to the blade. huhuhu

p/s: Abah has got his blade as well. It is proven to be as sharp as tack because maa has cut a  little bit of her finger when she touched the blade. huuu

Ever feel loved?

Even this is so last year, but I can’t resist to share it.

Notice the purple baju kurung I was wearing in the picture? That’s my 20th birthday present from dearest Azni. Baju kurung beeebbb! She sewed this herself using Oya’s sewing machine. I haven’t got any clue even we lived in the exact same house last summer. Konon-kononnya they were watching infernal affairs la in Oya’s room and everyone else(Nad, Syikin and Watep) pandai pulak keep the secret. You know where they got the kain? Walmart!! We went to walmart one fine night and merayau2 sampai ke tempat kain2 and I’m the one who said, “Cantik oh kain ni buat baju kurung”, melayan Watep yang menggelupur want to make baju kurung out of Sponge Bob punya kain. Oh well I’m just saying.

Nad,Oya,Watep,Me,Syikin,Azni

I love the picture album they gave me too. Comel and full of memories. Suka tahap dewa. Haha. Oh I feel loved, I feel loved.

Ok thats all, post visit syndrome after open house at Towers1704(rumah lama) last night.

Tribute to Mok Raa II.

From Tribute to Mok Raa.
Reading this post made me think hard. So let me think first before I write something. hahahhahaha. Hope I will come up with something.
But Mok Raa will always be evergreen. She has the same look that she had 20 years ago. She is like second Mother to us, sir Faiz and Naziha especially. I remember Hj Lazim said to me that we cannot be “derhaka” to Mok Raa. That much I can tell you guys for this moment.

*************************************************

  1. She used to take care of me and Mat Apih not so long compare to Mat Paih and Naziha. I remember Cik Dah was imported to Sabah from Kelantan to nanny us. After that she became a student in Maktab Perguruan Gaya. If Mat Apih remembers he made Che Dah wear spectacle. I don’t want to go to details. Ask him for detail.
  2. Every morning Hj Lazim/Hjh Zainab will send Mat Paih to Ayah Sue house. Mok Raa will wait at the gate and Mat Paih with his small beg will go and kiss Mok Raa hand.
  3. Hj. Lazim used blue Fiat at that time, SA131A is the plat number. After that red Ford Telestar. Hjh Zainab used yellow Charade with small round window on the side.
  4. Ayah Sue house was at one Perumahan in Sembulan. I remember they lived at one corner lot and after that they moved out, but in the same Perumahan. After that Kak Yah moved to the same perumahan. At the first house he had pigeons as pets. At the second house he had rabbits as pets. The family always loves cats.
  5. When I was in standard 2 or 3, Mok Raa persuaded me and Mat Apih to fast. She promised to give us 1 ringgit per day if we complete the whole month. I accepted the offer and succeed. Mat Apih failed because he had a suspicion of appendix. But anyhow he got the money. I felt that was unfair and asked Mok Raa why Mat Apih got the money; she said “orang sakit tak buleh puasa”. At that time I always wonder where Mok Raa got the money to give to us because she didn’t work. 60 ringgit is a lot for kids like us.
  6. I hated to break fast at Ayah Sue house because we must pray first before we eat.
  7. I and Mat Apih always bullying Mat Paih. When Mok Raa was around she will do some physiology thing to stop us from bullying our brother. We will listen to her immediately.
  8. Big Bully??

  9. I remember the legendry photo of Naziha. After Kak No developed the negative, She kept telling us how she and Mok Raa made Naziha sat on the red chair.
  10. Legendary Mek Senono??

  11. Anyone remember Fathi anak Ustaz Sidek?

I have many memories about the Sabah era but memories about Mok Raa that is all for now. I update if something comes up. I challenge Mat Apih to write something to match mine. We will see who treasure Mok Raa the most. hahhahahaha.

*Pictures is taken from Mat Paih’s Multiply and Mat Paih took it from Cik Sue’s blog.

A tribute to Mok Raa

On the first day of Eid, we had a chance to go to Umi’s house, where we met Umi, her daughter (Kak Nor), her son in law (Abe Azizi), her grandchildren and last but not least Mok Raa..

As usual, when I met my Mok Raa, she would smile at me as she always do and saying that I was only a small innocent kid when she took care of me. Now I have grown a lot.. She would tell Kak Nor’s children that I was about their age when I stayed with her. It really brings back memories, although things was a bit blur as I was just a tiny little kid at that time.

Mok Raa with her smile..

I used to live at Ayah Su and Umi’s house back then, at the end of 80’s and early 90s’. As I came from working parents, my elder brothers, my sister and I was sent to their house. It was when we were in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, to be precise..

Mok Raa was the one who was in charge of taking care of us. She was our Nanny, our Godmother. According to Mok Raa, I liked to ask a lot of weird questions to everybody including her. “What is that?”, “Why is it like this?” “Why is it like that?” even to the extend that it may be perceived as rude by others.. but not for Mok Raa, she looked it as parts of my learning. That was when the inputs were crammed into my heart..

My mother always says that children of the age below 5 years old gain the most rapid input in their lives. They are fast learners at that time although the production part might come in later part of their age. As for Mok Raa, she was really patient in provided us with our different needs, faced our different split personalities with smile, and loving us without condition. Sometimes we were autobots but most of the times I guess we were decepticons (warid 2009). huhuhu

Thanks from all of us.. We love Mok Raa as well..

Al Fatihah to the late Ayah Su (Pok Su Wi).. His last smile will always be in my heart..

p/s:

  1. Perhaps more elaboration about this entry can be shared as I has quite a blur memory about what particularly happened at that era..  Maybe another entry? huhuhu
  2. I was told that I have a rival who was my sparring partner at that time? We lived together with Mok Raa.. Who was that guy again? huhuhu..

First love

I had a chat with my student in the Facebook who apparently has the same birthday as Abe Hapih’s.. She sent a FB message to my inbox telling that it was her birthday on that day, and the day before was her friend’s birthday who was also one of my students.  So, the conversation went like this..

16:03 S*******
hai..
16:25 Mohd Faiz
hai s*******
happy birthday
16:40 S*******
thanks sir
thanks sir
16:45 Mohd Faiz
how was your class?
16:45 S*******
very dirty
S******* is offline.

ROTFL terbahak2..

Do not get her wrong. Dirty here means that the class got rubbish all over the place. Yes, children of mine are so innocent.  They are just Standard Three kids.. That is one of the sample on cases that I had to face almost everyday for the past three months. Because of all the unintentional jokes, they have made me look younger (awet muda). Am I?

With love, 3 Mesra 2009, S.K. Jalan Raja Muda..

However, it is all over now. I miss their charm and harm.. I’m gonna miss them so much (wiping off the tears).. huhuu.. Hopefully, I will be posted to a school where I can meet sweet students and supportive teachers like I get in my ex-school. Amin..

One could fall in love many times during the course of a lifetime, but the first rush of love always holds a special place in our hearts.

p/s: I am still searching for my true love though… huhuhu

Happy Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday AbeApih!

May the best surrounds you lahhh (saya la tuh antaranya).

Gulp tuo doh ni ganow ganow?

Arabic – passion!

When My servants ask you about Me, I am always near. I answer their prayers when they pray to Me.  The people shall respond to Me and believe in Me, in order to be guided.

and like always, translation of the Quran will never depicts the meaning of the verse. The verse simply struck me to death. It hit me hard. Allah spoke to me directly!! *gulp* Well after about 20 years being a muslim, I only discover this verse last 2 years in my room after subh, in the month of Ramadhan. Alhamdulillah. Maybe had run through the verse thousand times but I never get attached to it. Heh kantoi baca-sebacanya je selama ni kan sobs. But this “…fa inni qariib…” is tremendously powerful. Cannot go little dust hik! One of great moments of my life. Indeed. Opss this is Al-Baqarah ppl!

My point is – theres so much to gain in learning Arabic.

Sure cam best sgt kan kalo baca Quran tuh paham ape meaning de. I learnt Arabic for five years in high school tapi tak pandai2. Form 1 smpai Form 3 memang hampeh asyik clueless n blur je kat blkg kelas, bila ustazah nak tanya baru mata terbukak and kalut carik jawapan (- – “). Then I went to Integrasi Kuantan, better sbb Ustaz lagi mencuakkan, and percaya tak saya pernah wakil skolah baca arabic poem for Arabic Festival kat SEMESTI! Kalah la tapi sobs (- -”) . Now at Vandy da 3 courses I took, sampai Arabic 4. Err tapi tapi still tak reti ni? Kaifa hal, ahlan wasahlan je yg tau sheesh. Hampeh Hampeh. tapi kalau da nak blaja tu sume jalaan lah, hik, cam malu je kalu still nak bagi banyak2 alasan kan?

No more Ayam Bapak 2

When I did some cleaning in my messy place, I have finally found our Ayam Bapak.. It stays safely there, and no one seems to take care of her.. Look at the dust and mess around her..

The legendary most wanted killer machine

Sad to say that it was just a soft copy of JPEG file.. The Vespa was found when I did some house keeping in my hard disk.. At least we still have the picture which have captured our sweet memory together.. huhuhu

The Merchant of Venice

I went to watch a play performed by my juniors as part of their assignment entitled The Merchant of Venice, same like we did years ago, but ours was on Romeo and Juliet. Both plays were written by Shakespeare.

Their play was remarkably great. I did not know that my housemates were really great in acting. It is true that still water runs deep. The fantastic costume, props, actors, script and enthusiasm was poured for the audiences’ enjoyment.

Mr Alip acted as Bassanio.. Splendid..

As my background knowledge about the play was zero when I watched the play, I was not able to comprehend the play well. In addition, I went to watch the play a bit late and went out of the auditorium early because of some family matter (do not follow this as it is rude to do so when you watch others perform).

Therefore, to make it up, I have made some research about the play. I found out that the play was pretty interesting. Although I was never been a fan of Shakespeare and never will, I believe that he was able address a few issues in the play pretty well. The use of a Jew to portray the greedy and unmerciful creature was really hit the nail on the head. Although the play was written between 1596 and 1598 (wiki), it is applicable today and will remain relevant in the future. huhuhu..

Hopefully we gain something from the play. History is not just about the past, it is incidents that will repeatedly happen happen again and again. The question is where will we be when it happens? either in the dark path with Shylock (Abu Lahab and the gang) or on the straight and bright side. You choose side that best suits you, but there will be consequences for everything..

Congratulation to the whole cohort. The whole team had put enormous effort to the performance.. Thanks for the great lesson. huhuhu

Raya sebulan kan kan?

It is busy and crowded here in Towers West. Yeah I’m working, subbing for Nadiah because she’s busy preparing for sophomore’s open house tomorrow. Can’t wait but from what I know they will have ROTI JALA for sure because Hafiz came and borrow our “pembuat roti jala”. This will be my 1, 2, 3, 4, oh forth open house. kot.

2009_09_20

This year’s raya was a little bit different because it was on weekend, Sunday to be exact. I simply love it because my housemates, Nik, Syera and I stayed up all night kunun2nya preparing for raya. Satay, kuah kacang, nasi impit, rendang daging, tiramisu, kuih raya(semperit, mama carie, honey cornflakes, makmur), agar-agar milo and “accident” agar-agar merah. Mantap I think because we did it in one night. Enjoy enjoy =)

I slept about an hour that night before going for solat raya at Nashville Convention Center. It was fun as most of us can go without missing classes. Hik. Photography session took a long time but heck; this is my last raya here!

My Pictures

After that, we went to Kak Shida’s house because she hosted an open house for us, the seniors. Makan sedapnya lah oh macam-macam ada, ABC pon ada ok. I enjoyed myself eating and catching up with dear friends on oh everything. Later tired enough, I fell asleep for quite a time di ceruk mana ntah somewhere in Kak Shida’s big house. We went back at about 5pm I think, and sambung tido at our house. Pancit eating a lot after a month fasting. Perut terkejut kot. :D

My Pictures1

So who ate all of the food that we cooked? Later that night, we unofficially hosted a sempoi open house. Meriah gak lah. Licin lah our food that is initially not intended to serve that many people. Makan kuih raya pon jadiklah. Thanks to those who came and cherished our raya. I guess we will be having the official open house soon with fellow Chaffinian. Soon very soon.

My Pictures2

Alhamdulillah, my final raya overseas was splendid. Next year, like what Abe Apih said, we can buy “sekayu kain” and buat baju raya sama je sume. Hopefully Hj Lazim’s family will be completed insyaAllah, after so many years. I barely remember when was the last time we celebrated raya together. Next year insyaAllah, insyaAllah.

Why rap?

When people looked at the mural that we drew at school, they responded to the mural really well.. What comes to your mind when you look at the picture?

Work on progress.. Bob is not in the picture..

Based on our observation, people would ask “Why rap?”. I do not have the answer either as it was plagiarised directly from somewhere in the net. However, it is good to make others not just looking at the mural, but also thinking about it as well. huhuhu..

So, why rap?
